The Arroyo Grande 400 free relay had a huge swim at the second annual CIF State championships.
The team of Jack Alexander, Trent Schachter, Chris Dichmann, and James Hazel teamed to post a time of 3 minutes, 8.31 seconds. The team crushed their performance from just a week earlier by nearly two seconds, reset the school record, and earned All-American consideration. They also went from 27th to 8th place, making the big finals.
Trent Schachter moved from 30th to 17th place in the 200 free, and went 14th to 12th in the 100 fly. In the finals, he moved up to win the consolation final and get 9th place.
The relay team added a little time compared to their prelim performance, but moved up a spot to get 7th place.
As team, AG placed 21st out of over 200 schools.
