He also swam a time trial 200 yard freestyle, in which he put up a time of 1:44.22, a drop of about three seconds.

The day after the meet concluded, a special one day long course meters meet was held for those who had competed in Junior Nationals. Schachter went a 58.55 in the 100 meter butterfly and 55.13 in the 100 meter freestyle, a drop of about one second.
