Arroyo Grande rolled over Mission Prep in the opening meet of the 2015 season to go to 1-0 to start the year on both the boys and girls side.
The score for the boys was 247-25, and on the girls side it was 214-79.
For the boys, all three relays made CIF consideration times for Division 2. The 200 medley relay of Charlie Watkins, Jack Alexander, Trent Schachter, and Chris Dichmann combined to go 1 minute, 40.65 seconds. In the 200 freestyle relay, Christian Solis and David Malouf teamed with Alexander and Dichmann to go a 1:31.55. Finally, in the 400 freestyle relay, it was Solis, Schachter, Malouf, and Watkins who made the mark, posting a 3:23.48.
Multiple CIF consideration times were also met in individual events. Christian Solis hit one in the 100 freestyle with a 48.87, and was just five tenth away from a second in the 50 freestyle with a 22.85.
David Malouf posted a 55.40 in the 100 butterfly and a 2:05.92 in the 200 individual medley, both of which made the CIF consideration time standard.
Watkins and Alexander each added CIF consideration times to the mix. Watkins put up a 56.85 in the 100 backstroke, and Alexander went 1:02.85 in the 100 breaststroke. Also close in the breaststroke was Josh Smith, who was .31 away from a cut with a 1:04.31.
In the 200 freestyle, Schachter teamed with Ethan Klemowicz and James Hazel to go 1-2-3 in the event. All three were within two seconds of CIF consideration marks with their times of 1:51.36, 1:51.54, and 1:51.99, respectively. Hazel was also within three seconds of a cut in the 500 freestyle with his winning time of 5:07.28.
